About Siobhan


Who I was – Stressed, stretched and straining as I faced the daily grind of commuting and delivering to an ever higher standard at work.

I have worked in the Oil Industry for the majority of my career in Trading in both Operational and Project Management roles which tended to be high stress and long working hour environments. At the same time, I was a single parent and single income family paying a mortgage. I am therefore very familiar with the strain placed on us due to the juggling involved in trying to be the perfect parent and attending to the demands of our fast paced, work environments.

I came to mindfulness after a particularly demanding year. I knew I was in trouble when I found myself crying one morning en route to work: not a few gentle sobs but mournful, prolonged crying. The obligatory conversations happened at work but I realised that, apart from allowing me a few weeks rest, there was little support or understanding of the effects of stress.

Who I am now – Contented, centred and more carefree.

I believe that I was lucky to have found mindfulness. It not only helped me to return to work but helped me navigate the same waters with more clarity and sanity. I had access to a toolbox of techniques that helped me in the immediate moment I needed assistance.
It has also improved the quality of my life outside of work; I am more appreciative of every moment and every experience and even those experiences that I found most difficult previously are not now so emotionally charged for me. I can more frequently, through conscious choice, respond with grace and equanimity.

Mindfulness has also helped me regulate my health; I have an auto-immune condition which benefits greatly from the attention of mindfulness.

I have noticed that when occasionally I don’t use my Mindfulness Toolbox that I start to feel less happy and less well so this is the motivator for me to keep on practising what I preach.

My focus now ¬– is to help you become more contented and centred by empowering you to initiate change in your life by developing and utilising your Mindfulness Toolbox in your everyday.
